3 Unique and Different Ways to Make Pancakes
AUGUST 19, 2020 - LIFESTYLE

Everyone should know how to make pancakes because it's super easy, and it's one of the healthiest things you can eat for breakfast. And not just that. Making them is fun! I will show you my three ways of making pancakes. You can adjust the number of ingredients to your own liking once you master the recipe. I've got you covered, though, and decided to give you two of my most simple and healthiest recipes. The second one is a bit more complex, but I believe in you. Practice makes it perfect, doesn't it? So let's see how to make a pancake, shall we?

Low-Calorie 3 Ingredient Oatmeal Pancakes

If you're trying to lose weight, this is the perfect recipe for you. The ingredients you need are:

  • one banana

  • an egg

  • a cup of oat flakes

  • pancake syrups (optional)

  • cocoa, cinnamon, or vanilla extract (optional)

The process goes like this: Mash a banana and mix it with an egg. After this, put the oat flakes, and the pancake mixture is done. The only thing you need to be careful about is not heating the pan too much. The medium temperature is perfect. And yes, you don't need oil if you use a non-stick pan. To be honest, I would recommend using a non-stick pan, but you can put just a little bit of oil to completely prevent the mixture from sticking. Now comes the cooking part: Pour two tablespoons of the mix into a pan and wait for some time until you see that the mixture has hardened enough to flip it without it crumbling. Then flip it, and do the same. Flip it as many times you want until the color of the pancake is chocolate-brown. You can pour sweet syrups on top of them, some powdered sugar, or some berries. If you want to spice things up a bit, you can add cocoa, cinnamon, or vanilla extract. I don't want to make it even more complicated for you, so I've started with these two types of a 3 ingredient pancake.

You should know that these pancakes can't be eaten with salty foods, cheese, or meat because they will have a very strong banana flavor. You should know that you will make a serving for only one person. Just double the measures if you make it for two or more people.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Truth be told, I rarely make these, mostly because the recipe is quite complicated. However, they taste great! For all the chocolate lovers out there, get ready, and take notes. The Ingredients are:

  • 11/2 cup of rolled oats

  • 1 cup of almond milk

  • 1tsp of vanilla extract

  • an egg, a banana

  • a pinch of salt

  • 1tsp of cinnamon

  • 2 tsp of baking powder

  • and chocolate chips

  • maple syrup (optional)

How to make them: Grind the oats and make a flour out of it, add baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Pour milk into a blender, add a banana, vanilla extract, and an egg. Mix it, add flour and mix it again. Now take a ¼ cup and pour the pancake mix into it, and that will be your measure. Pour the mix into a non-stick pan and add some chocolate chips on top of it. After that, you can add some maple syrup and berries on top of it or spread some melted chocolate. There are a lot of ingredients, but if you don't mind, then try it out.

British Pancakes (Crepe)

This is my favorite pancake recipe because these pancakes can be combined with things like sugar, honey, marmalade, but also all kinds of cheese, meats, etc. My grandmother used to male pancakes in this way. Not to mention that it's so easy to make them. Ingredients:

  • 1tbsp of sunflower oil (don't use olive oil when cooking in high temperatures, it's not healthy)

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup of milk

  • just a pinch of salt and sugar

  • and ½ cup of water

Start with cracking two eggs and stirring them thoroughly. Pour milk and stir again. Then add flour, but don't put the whole cup at once; it's better to use more flour and make a thicker pancake mixture because the key is not to have lumps of flour in your mixture. Stir and stop when you see no lumps of flour. Add salt and sugar, then gradually add some water until the mixture becomes just right. I think that the water will be just fine, but you can use milk instead for the more creamy texture. You can leave the mixture thicker if you love chunky pancakes. Add oil in the pan and let it heat up. Then, pour the mixture with a ladle and cover the bottom of the frying pan. Flip it a few times with a spatula and repeat until you're out of your pancake mix. You will make 5-8 pancakes. After that, you can spread marmalade, honey, or whatever you want and roll them. My favorite thing is to put cooked chicken, sour cream, some spices, and a salad in this kind of pancake. It's healthy, and it doesn't have to be served as a breakfast.

The Final Word

There are many more tips and tricks on how to make pancakes, but use these 3 recipes and then experiment with them a bit. I've given you one simple, very healthy recipe, a more complicated one, and a traditional, unique way of making pancakes. It's a bit harder, but try to put, especially if you love larger, thinner pancakes. Many people who don't love bananas are pretty much reluctant to try pancakes made of a banana, and that's why I've added alternative recipes without a banana as an ingredient. If you want to stay fit, healthy, and lose weight, then go for the first or the third recipe. They're pretty low in calories, and they're very tasty, too! I wish you luck and stay creative!
